It has to be one of the most unusual ways to grow up. Instead of trudging to school and putting up with the various goofballs that are your classmates, you spend most of your time in front of the camera and the rest learning your lessons via studio-provided tutors. Indeed, a child actor is protected by rules and regulations, but spending more time in the limelight than in your books, your grip on what’s important and the real world in general can loosen. Some get lost. Others drop out, never to return.
Then there is someone like Georgie Henely, who recently turned 21. You may remember her from her work in the Chronicles of Narnia, where she played Lucy Pevensie. She appeared in the original film, The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe and went on to essay the role in the sequels Prince Caspian and The Voyage Of The Dawn Treader. Since then, she’s been laying low. She got a college degree, she’s made a few appearances in some indie films, and perhaps more importantly, she’s grown into a beautiful young woman. The gallery below says it all.
