Newborn Hurricane Survivor Gets Photoshoot On The Boat That Rescued Her

Texans are still immersed in the cleanup of the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey but in the darkest moments of devastation, a glimmer of hope appeared. After 10-day-old Hope was rescued, along with her parents Emily and Levi Chimeno and two siblings, by the Cajun Army, her family wanted to commemorate her floodwater rescue.

So they planned a photo shoot on the very boat the tiny newborn was rescued with. According to the Beaumont Enterprise, Emily said her daughter was able to sleep the entire time throughout the horrendous conditions.

Emily said her main concern was to avoid infection from contaminated floodwaters after delivering Hope by C-section just days earlier.

The Chimeno family were taken to a shelter five hours away but once Melissa Viator met them and continued to check on them at the shelter, she insisted they come stay with her, especially with a newborn baby.
